Sony is introducing their very first USB 3.0 Thumb Drive: Sony MicroVault Mach USB 3.0 flash drive
Sony is introducing their very first USB 3.0 thumb drive ever this month. Although it is relatively fast, a speedier one is not all that hard to find. Since the Sony MicroVault Mach USB 3.0 flash drive is a debut memory flash drive product, Sony is starting out on the right track. After all, the company will hopefully only improve from here on out. Although the speed is not a news maker, the lustrous, contemporary look is definitely something to talk about.

Epson to Release PP-50BD Blu-ray DiscProducer in Early 2012
There is a buzz in the industry that Epson is preparing to round out its Discproducer product line with a new model. Expected to debut in early 2012, the new machine will support recording on single and dual-layer Blu-ray discs. If it is true, this move would give Epson a major competitive advantage in the disc publishing market.
Currently, Epson is the only major manufacturer without a Blu-ray publisher. Competitors such as Microboards, Primera, and Rimage have had their Blu-ray disc publishers available for years.

Pioneer Introduces BDR-PR1 Archival Blu-ray Drive
Less than a month after Pioneer announced two new Blu-ray writers for the consumer market, they are back with another new Blu ray burner – though this one is aimed at archival users.

Corporate IT departments are required to maintain emails and tax records, police departments have evidence to keep, and libraries and research organizations have important data to store and catalog.

We’ve written several articles during the past year about the rise of the UltraViolet format. Since it went live in November 2011, there have been a lot of questions about the format such as:
- How will the online, cloud-based “storage locker” work for watching movies?
- Can movie studios, content producers, and hardware manufacturers work together to build a successful platform?
- Will consumers find the format easy to use and worth paying for?
- Does UltraViolet have the potential to become a serious competitor to Apple’s iTunes monopoly on premium, downloadable content?
